About us
OUR WHYWe exist to improve outcomes for people.
Across Australia, many people face barriers to employment, housing and opportunity. While systems are designed to support people, they often don’t work as intended in practice.
Policies and programs are typically shaped by funding rules, institutional boundaries and system settings that don’t reflect how people actually live.
As a result, there is often a gap between what is intended and what people experience on the ground.
Between Points was established to work in that space. We work at the intersection of policy, services and local economies — connecting how systems are designed with how change happens in the real world. We work alongside communities, governments and partners to design practical solutions, align systems, and support change that lasts.
Our work is grounded in delivery. We don’t just develop ideas — we work in places, with communities and partners to test approaches, support implementation, and learn what it takes for change to take hold and endure.
OUR VALUESOur work is guided by a small number of principles.
Work with, not on
We work alongside communities, governments and partners. We recognise that people closest to the problem are central to the solution.
Stay grounded in practice
We focus on what works in the real world. We design solutions that can be delivered, adapted and sustained, and learnt through implementation.
Connect systems, removing silos
We work across policy, services and local economies, aligning the parts of the system that shape real outcomes for people.
Focus on outcomes for people
We keep a clear focus on improving people’s lives, particularly for those experiencing disadvantage.
Direct our work where it is needed most
As a not-for-profit, we are focused on tackling disadvantage. We direct our work, partnerships and effort to where it can have the greatest impact, and to communities that are often underserved.
OUR PEOPLEWe are a highly experienced team with deep history of working across government, community, research and policy.
Collectively, we bring:
Expertise in place-based systems change and implementation
Strong capability in research, evaluation and evidence
Senior leadership experience in government and national reform
Long-standing relationships across government, philanthropy and the community sector
We have worked at all levels of the system, from communities and service delivery through to Ministers and central agencies.
What sets us apart is how we combine these perspectives. We bring together policy, practice and evidence, and work alongside partners to turn ideas into change that works in the real world.
Working on something you’re trying to shift? Let’s talk.
We’re always open to a conversation about what you’re working on — and how we might help turn it into practical change.
